Hi, I'm Patt.

I paint pets in acrylic at home in Medford, Oregon. Mostly cats so far, but dogs are very welcome, and I'd happily take on a rabbit if someone asked. Each painting starts with a photo that somebody loves and ends up as an original on stretched canvas.

I'm not trying to copy the photograph exactly. What I want is the expression that makes you laugh every time you see it. The mid-lick, the chin in the air, the suspicious yellow stare. I build the fur up in thin layers so you can still see the canvas underneath, and I keep backgrounds simple so nothing pulls attention away from the face.

I only take a few commissions at a time. It means waiting a little longer, but it also means your painting gets my full attention from start to finish. If you're here in the Rogue Valley we can meet up when it's done. If not, I'll wrap it up and post it to you.
